I wanted to showcase the second place finisher in his own post, so nothing is taken away from either of the two entries.
You see I was a big dummy, and left the armor in the store window for the summer, and well it took some direct hits from UV.
First off thanks to all who entered! The entries were all very well done, and it was nice to break up the pre-Necron hobby monotony, with a little inspirational contest.
He converted this puppy up good, with a bunch of solid true scale aspects, heck you can't even tell those are sentinel legs till you see it from behind.
Plus the best part is, there are rules in there as well!

Here is another custom FRAG! conversion from YepImadork. This guy's definitely got some character, eh? I for one have no idea how he opens doors, unless he just saws them in half, lol. Jump below the fold for all the details.

Now instead of making some Astartes look noble, he's afflicting a their vehicles with Nurgle's Rot. I'm sold, because boy does it look good so far!
They packed in a ton of detail into the board that really puts it over the top both in terms of play-ability and appearance IMHO.
So you should definitely try to check them out if you can!
It was really simple and took about 4-5 hours total for each squad of ten, which I thought for the end result was great. Keep in mind they are Nurgle so there is "perfect" involved, messy is just fine.
First of all I wanted to clear up several serious points that were bugging me. I do not think the leak was a bad thing for the hobby, personally I enjoyed seeing the photos and can not wait for them to hit in a few short weeks.
I started with my Pre-Heresy styled models and converted them up a little after I wrote that article, before adding paint.
It's an oldie but a goodie, which I have a sweet spot for. Check out this converted and painted Deathwatch Squad, by Beef (hold the cheddar).
I went last year and had a blast, but can't make it this time, as were gearing up for vending at another great event and getting ready for the Christmas Season.
