Win a Free Tervigon , Tyrant, or Thunderwolf kit- Oh my!

Well to celebrate the new releases, in a way that everyone can participate in (for FREE of course)- we're doing another giveaway!

Check it out, this one is really easy too!

All you have to do to enter to win a shiny new Tervigon, Hive Tyrant, or Thunderwolves kit is: Be a follower of Spikey Bits, and post at least one comment on here between now and March 31.

I'll choose THREE winners, that's right three winners one for each of the three new kits, from the comments left on the blog by followers.  So the more comments you post the better (not that we need more commenters per ce, it's just easier to choose from a list in the Disqus menu, and the last "voting" contests ended with shenanigans).

I'll pick the winners around the end of March/ start of April. So the more posts you make the better, but please don't spam, and remember the blog rules; no cursing or attacking others.

Oh and here's the LINK to "follow" the blog.

So that's it, short and sweet, good luck to everyone! -MBG

(I know, I know... there are Fenrisian Wolves too, but why win a $25 kit when you can win a $50 one, right?)

  1. You mean just any comment like this one?

    ReplyDelete
  2. Well this sounds like a very effective way to spawn comments, much like a tervigon spawns gaunts. Does my comment get Feel No Pain?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Lol, if you do not get Psychic Hooded, yes :P

    ReplyDelete
  4. Sweet.  I could certainly use any of these.  Granted, I'd have to reconfigure my Hive Fleet to make use of them...

    ReplyDelete
  5. I'm looking forward to the Thunderwolves kit, the round shields look very "viking" like.

    ReplyDelete
  6. id like to throw my name in the hat!

    ReplyDelete
  7. btw all those who remember the pre-heresy thousand sons, they're painted! Look forward to those in the next couple days!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Those new 'Nid models almost make me sad to have traded my swarm away.  However those wolf riders would make a fine addition to my gf's Space Wolves...

    ReplyDelete
  9. Sweet. Would be great to be getting 2 of these kits. Then I could have 5 tervigons and 3 tyrranofexes on the table

    ReplyDelete
  10. I am confused though, more comments means more chances?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Why not 2 fenrisian wolves boxes?

    Still, TWolves would be fine.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I hope I win the wolves :)

    ReplyDelete
  13. Yep, I just pick from a list of comments for the month on the Disqus dashboard.
So as long as I can figure out what follower you are from your comment profile.

But like I said you know, be respectful and all, and lets keep the spamming to a minimum please.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Either of them would be great.  Thanks for the free stuff Mr. Spikey

    ReplyDelete
  15. If I win one, It will be a sign to finish either my Tyranids or Wolves.  Let the Fates decide!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Thunder, Thunder, Thunderwolves hooooo!

    ReplyDelete
  17. But then again, how about that monster Tyranid!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Three prizes, three entries. How about the Terrvigon!

    ReplyDelete
  19. More Tyranids is more gooder. Tyranids that can make more Tyranids is even more gooderererr..er..

    ReplyDelete
  20. Tervigon or Tyrannofex please!
though TWC sounds really cool too.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Free stuff, FTW!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Free stuff always good, and it helps that I like the blog too :-)

    ReplyDelete
  23. If chose, I'll be up for a trade.  Which means a vote for me could mean a sweet deal for you.  Oh, wait, no voting.

    ReplyDelete
  24. What if one wanted two boxes of Fenrisian Wolves instead of one thunderwolf?

    ReplyDelete
  25. I would love the tyranofex or the tyrant, but I could find uses for the thunderwolves too!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Nice contest. For Tervigon / Tyrano model, I'm personally thinking about lowering his back and changing forward legs for something more resonable - such massive creature cannot be supported by sharp, spikey (pun not intended) leg tips!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Sure that's cool. I'm easy....

    ReplyDelete
  28. Cool contest, I will tell my friends.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Free new shiny stuff, FTW

    ReplyDelete
  30. It'd be rude not to comment on such a generous giveaway, good luck folks!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Sweet contest. Now if only I collected tyranids or space wolves

    ReplyDelete
  32. Spikey Bitz Rocks!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I've had a self made Tervigon conversion since the codex was rumored and I think mine is really great, but this one is simply awesome. GW have outdone themselves this time.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Ooo free wolves...

    ReplyDelete
  35. What has two thumbs and loves free stuff?  THIS GUY!

    ReplyDelete
  36. D Roy reporting in for a chance at gifts for the GF!

Granted, I will regret not having a good way to deal with those bastards alongside her current venomthrope/hormagaunt combo, but still....

    ReplyDelete
  37. Sweet a contest lets do this!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Well, I was an Unofficial Follower until now, this is as good a reason as any.

Besides, this is way less dangerous than the murder I was willing to commit for a set of Thunderwolves.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Very cool contest, keep on the good work

    ReplyDelete
  40. I suppose I should mention that I'm Following as KitAdrian, though I post Comments under my given name.

    Winner winner chicken dinner!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Am I a follower? How do I do that? Can I just comment? Is that enough?

    ReplyDelete
  43. For Russ! For the Wolftime!

    ReplyDelete
  44. A comment? Like this?

    ReplyDelete
  45. I like free, there, commented.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I really do love the new Tyranid kits. Not only do they look cool, but think of the conversion potential for each of them! There will be a ton of extra bits left over to really customize your swarm. I hope I get one of these!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I feel discriminated against on account of the fact that for some reason I am unableto comment on blogs using my work computer... I have to wait 'till the evenings to be able to say anything of worth! (what do you mean I should be working at work??)

    ReplyDelete
  48. Who has two thumbs and likes the chance to win free stuff?  This guy.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Can't say no to a free Tervigon!!!! Bring on the swarm!

    ReplyDelete
  50. btw my follower profile is SonofRuss.  Sorry I know this will be confusing.

    ReplyDelete
  51.  There is nothing that would make me want to play a Tyranid or Space Wolves army. (Other than free models, of course!)

    ReplyDelete
  52. I wonder if I could take the contest prize in bits ... so I can complete my long awaited Hive Tyrant/Thunderwolves kitbash ...

    ReplyDelete
  53. Papa needs another Tervigon to accompany my poor, converted Tervy!

    ReplyDelete
  54. honestly, most of kirbys or puppy posts that arouse hate usually get 84- 120 posts. this one is only at 61 right now. let's go folks!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Seeing as I have a $7 yearly budget for wargaming, that would certainly help my 'nids out quite a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  56. May the Spikey Lords bestow upon me a beast with which to nom my foes.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Oh god yes. I need to wipe me some Grey Knights off the tabletop!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Don't mind if I do, superb contest by the way!

    ReplyDelete
  59.  Man, I would paint the fluff out of any one of those kits and share the results with the blog :)

    ReplyDelete
  60. It's my Birthday end of March you know MBG ;)

    ReplyDelete
  61. I am so into this!! they are awesome kits

    ReplyDelete
  62. Wow, it has been a really long time since the last giveaway, any chance this will once more become a monthly thing?

    ReplyDelete
  63. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anwy2MPT5RE
    :D

    ReplyDelete
  64. Must say I think all three kits are really nice, if terribly overdue. Even though I'm a Tyranid player the Thunderwolves are tempting me to return to my ancient Space Wolf roots!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Choose me to win Spikeybits!!! its always been my goal to make a thunderwolf cav. army, and this will really help to get it going faster!!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Sad. still only 77 comments. Lets get this up there people !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Need more 'Nids! Nice Blog btw, I visit it once a day. When will you work again on your Scarab Occult Army? I love the Defiler-conversion.

    ReplyDelete
  68. The new Nid kits are totally sick.So glad i didn't bother with making a Tervigon conversion. And the Swarmlord will be totally killer on the table top, unless the 6th edition nerfs him.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Challenge accepted

    ReplyDelete
  70. Well after a 2yr wate GW Gave us Space Wolf players some really awsome plastic Thunderwolves and Fenrisian wolves as well.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I convert stuff.....

    ReplyDelete
  72. Fantastic, I could do with anyone of those kits :-)

    ReplyDelete
  73.  It's my birthday too (25th) =)

    ReplyDelete
  74. Love free prizes! All those kits seem great, could be the starting point of a new army.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Huge!! I love em.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Free? Well count me in ;)

    ReplyDelete
  77. I think a lot of people will just post crap to take advantage of this.

    -Hedwerx

    ReplyDelete
  78. Not sure if "follow" did work but the chance of actually winning something i can use is pretty awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Just started to follow this blog. Perhaps it was fate. Show me some prizes!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Alright! Day one of the occupation of this blog post begins! I'll post here every day until the end!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Oni, are you the 99%? lol :P

    ReplyDelete
  82. It's funny how a simple word in the title can make people crazy. There's already 94 posts. That's crazy. Good luck guys. :)

    ReplyDelete
  83. I think I am one of the 98.76%. So... yes? I also really want to win one of these things after missing the Christmas contest (which never got judged, cough cough).

    ReplyDelete
  84. well ok then...

maybe it's time for my genestealer cult to call in the hive fleet.

    ReplyDelete
  85. frrrrreeeeeee? count me in for the nid models!

    ReplyDelete
  86.  Oh and I just realized that my follower name is Wolfs16. That doesn't seem to be an issue as long as we state who we are, right? I've seen other folks do the same.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Second day of Occupy Spikey Bits. I am currently contemplating the meaning of "Contemptor." Seems awfully mean.

    ReplyDelete
  88. If I can't get the twolves I'll give away the tyranid fig to my friend who's in desperate need for some.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Will post for Thunderwolves!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Branden JacobsonMarch 1, 2012 at 6:00 PM

Follow and post just to win those sweet new models? I'm down!

    Granesh
    Smells Like Wargaming

    ReplyDelete
  91. What would happen if a Tervigon sneezed?

    ReplyDelete
  92. I'll post for any of them...

    ReplyDelete
  93. Day three of the Siege of Spikey Bitz. I just ordered a different head for my limited edition beaky marine. The head was miscast on mine, so I'll just be making him without a helmet.

    ReplyDelete
  94. gaunts. lots of gaunts

    ReplyDelete
  95. Any of these models would be a great start back into the hobby.

    ReplyDelete
  96. "Oh and here's the LINK to "follow" the blog."

The link doesn't work for me.... :(

    ReplyDelete
  97. Day four of the Siege of Spikey bitz. I'm going to need new paints soon.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Thanks for the opportunity, SpikeyBits!

    ReplyDelete
  99. Day five of the Siege of Spikey Bitz. The wind howls outside my window as another Flesh Tearer gets painted.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Day six of the Siege of Spikey Bitz. I have contemplated starting a Chaos Marines army, even with the current state of the codex.

    ReplyDelete
  101. If you do all 30 days I kinda want to see if i can do a diary blog post about it. :D

    Spikey Bits: The stalking....

    ReplyDelete
  102. It's my homepage and it only takes a minute to leave a comment. Why not? Onward to victory!

    ReplyDelete
  103. well your trying hard

    ReplyDelete
  104. Hahaa! It has me joined to this site as William Hooke, yet my comments area as Marshal Wilhelm.

    Strange but true.

    Oh computers. XD

Anyway, thank you for running this prize - it is very generous :)

May your bits always be spikey!
    hurrah!

    ReplyDelete
  105. My bad. Havent had a chance to fix it, but if you scroll to the bottom, the followers box is after the article ends. :D

    ReplyDelete
  106. I eventually got some courage to look around and I did click on 'follow' - so I got their eventually :D

But for some reason it didn't use the name I post under.... lol.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Took a bit to figure out that the comments below hold very useful information ( Click the "Follow" button in the designated punch and pie room )

I love the models but if there happens to be a fourth give away, particularly at a set of the Fenrisian Wolves, I'd like a chance at 'em!

    ReplyDelete
  108. you are ;)

    ReplyDelete
  109. Day seven of the Siege of Spikey bits. Is this what the Iron Cage campaign felt like? Doubtful. Also: the command squad I bought back in VA (at FTW Games, no less) is close to done.

    ReplyDelete
  110. more like the siege of terra

    ReplyDelete
  111. Day eight of the Siege of Spikey Bitz. Hershey bars are delicious. Or are those "heresy" bars?

    ReplyDelete
  112. Mars chocolates were shifting towards smaller packaging to accommodate less than 250 calories per serving to combat obesity and diabetes in the regions they sell chocolate. Are you prepared? :P

    ReplyDelete
  113. Day nine of the Siege of Spikey Bitz. Finally got new spray paint, so my work on my second tactical squad begins in earnest.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I really like the that the Tyranofex looks like a baby Hierophant. It would make sense that it would follow a similar aesthetic. I wonder if they will make the Parasite model look like a tiny Harridan?

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  115.  I think people will be tempted to start a Space Wolves army, simply because the Wolfs models look like so much fun! I know I am!

    ReplyDelete
  116.  I have thought about that too. Perhaps digging the "spikes" into the ground a bit more would help? Curious to see what folks do to compensate for the size.

    ReplyDelete
  117.  When something is free, we all collect that army. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  118.  I have seen a lot of cool Tervigon conversions, but I agree that the official model was just too cool. I think folks can use their converted Tervigons as the HQ versions. It would still make them useful! Although I hope yours isn't much smaller by comparison....

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  119.  You know your Space Wolves need more wolfy...ness...

    ReplyDelete
  120.  You my friend are a very fortunate man. A girlfriend who embraces the Great Devourer? A real thing of beauty! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  121.  It looks like a few of us have different follower names compared to what we post as. I am including my follower name at the end of my posts. That should make it easier!

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  122.  As a fellow Jake, I suggest we join forces in order to win a free model. You can keep the box, I will keep that model. That seems fair, right? :-D

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  123.  Yeah....I have a feeling a lot of us should probably be doing more productive things than surfing 40K websites. God bless internet on smart phones!

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  124.  Wait...you have two thumbs as well!? There is a gentleman who commented to the same effect earlier. This can only be settled one way:

    Thumb War!

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  125.  I agree! It's a great way to get the community more involved with the site and will simply spread awareness. Plus there is constantly good and regular updates!

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  126.  WHAT

Please post pictures somewhere so we can see this delightful abomination! Are they count-as Nids or Wolves?

    ReplyDelete
  127.  The great thing is, I think you can build a pretty solid list from either of these kits. What I mean is, they eat up a lot of points, so you don't have to worry about starting out an army with a daunting troop count to paint. Although....the freshly pooped out Termagants may get a little overwhelming to paint. Batch painting techniques ahoy!

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  128.  How much of a difference is there between the two size-wise? It seems like a lot of folks made them a bit too tiny.

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  129.  I think folks might be a bit shocked at how easy it is to enter this contest. It creates a weird apprehension!

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  130.  Oh my goodness, it would take you a few years just to buy a kit of Termagants! I guess that means that you have everything painted to a very high standard by the time you get another model? :-)

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  131.  When in doubt, throw Wolves at it.

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  132.  Yes! That should be a requirement. Or at least, it should entitle you to more free models. Ya know...to showcase the new products? ;-)

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  133.  Forget monthly, how about daily! Seriously though, a monthly giveaway would be awesome.

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  134.  I do feel bad for the folks who spent a lot of money on making a major Tervigon conversion. Although, I guess that any conversion you work hard on should make you proud, so maybe it's still a win?

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  135.  I think GW was testing us, waiting till we were ready to receive this bounty. We were all so young then...now we are wise and world-weary.

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  136.  Me too! What a coincidence!

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  137. I had a dream that it would end this way...

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  138.  I'm in the same boat as you (no opponents), but it can be tremendously satisfying to see an army you made come to fruition. Thank goodness for the internet!

    ReplyDelete
  139.  Heaven forbid! I only excrete the most quality of posts.

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  140.  And the Hive Mind sends a single Tervigon for support.

"Well...go get 'em!" says the Hive Mind, as it fires out the lone Tervigon onto the planet.

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  141.  Isn't there a quote that says, "My armor is contempt?"

    Sounds familiar....

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  142.  No, it would be Rippers!

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  143.  Dude! Call GW and get a replacement! That is way too expensive of a model for one of the main details to be messed up.

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  144. Day ten of the Siege of Spikey Bitz. Pickle jars make great painting cups, I am discovering. Too heavy to accidentally tip and too eye-catching to miss.

    ReplyDelete
  145. after getting the tervigon assembled, I'm happy to say not only is it an awesome kit, it's not much bigger than the few I had. SOOOOO many cool new bits though, I love the gigantic crushing claws, Id love to make an OOE with them.

    ReplyDelete
  146.  I think that's what I'm so excited about. The conversion potential in these is what excites me the most!

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  147.  But aren't they a little too tall for easy brush washing? I always use an old cream cheese container. They seem to be the right size.

    ReplyDelete
  148.  He has said that substitutions can be made, so perhaps you guys can work something out?

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  149.  I think anyone starting the hobby now (or getting back into it) are really spoiled for choice with all these awesome new models. Hopefully they keep coming!

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  150. Question for those who have the new Thunderwolf kits (including the Wolf Lord):

Are the Thousand Son bits that come on the models pretty intact, or are they really beat up? I'm wondering if those might be usable.

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  151. Day eleven of the Siege of Spikey Bitz. My command squad is almost done. All that remains now is the Priest and the the last of the banner.

    ReplyDelete
  152.  I wonder if we will start to see some 3rd party kits to make your own Cyber-Wolves? It seems like it would be an awesome idea!

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  153. Day ## of Siege of Spikey Bits' Outer Gate, Found scrap of paper.. Unable to transcribe.. "Door is not an entrance". Sending word to identify what it means.

    ReplyDelete
  154.  With some work, yep. Check the video I did, There is a good shot there.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Very interested in seeing how well the Tervigon kit works with other Tyranid beasts. It would make for some amazing Trygon conversions, I'm sure!

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  156.  Oooh, very cool. Thanks for the video!

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  157. Day twelve of the Siege of Spikey Bitz. STeve N will not steal my thunder!

    ReplyDelete
  158. So how are those who made tiny Tervigons dealing with the base size issue? Simply popping the old model off and making a new base? Or did most people guess that the oval base would be the way to go?

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  159. Day thirteen of the Siege of Spikey bitz. Hell week has begun here at my college. Papers papers papers...

    ReplyDelete
  160.  I just tried using some of that Instant Mold today. The shoulder pad turned out awful, but the impression of a Techmarine chest doohicky is looking really good! Anyone else have any experience with this stuff?

Might help people who want to make some copies of details on the Wolf kits.

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  161. Awesome models, can't wait to sleep with them!

    ReplyDelete
  162. Those Thunderwolfs are really great models. Can't wait to see more from GW.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Do you sleep with the case or do you specifically cling to the models as you sleep, possible reliving a neverending game? Inquiring minds may want to know, and roll morale saves (if not fearless)

    ReplyDelete
  164. Day ## of underground bunker outside ONIAgen150's siege of Spikey Bitz. I spy from the puzzling report from my kommandos, that ONIAgent150 is up to something, and its not conversions or painting.

Order for the Kommandos: Return and Spy some more. And see whether the camo, flakk gun, and flood lights were rented seperately or sold in a bundle.

    ReplyDelete
  165.  I imagine he must be a very still sleeper, as any rolling over and you'll wake up to a crunched Wolf.

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  166.  If only the cost of these Tyranid kits was cheaper, I would love to have and army with 5 Tervigons and 3 Tyranofex's. That would be awesome!

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  167. Day fourteen of the Siege of Spikey Bitz. Got in another fight in Ethics class today. Poor people are genetically inferior to rich people? Sorry, no sale. Jerks.

    ReplyDelete
  168. They don't do well with saliva, or wifes. But great excuse to howl at night!

    ReplyDelete
  169. I'm making room for new models by painting up ones that have been sitting on my desk for too long. Got a whole Vespid squad done! Yay!

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  170. I spent three quarters of the day organizing aaaaaaaall of my magic cards, I barely had any time to check the web articles. (I think my fav is the Mind Bomb of 5th's gotcha rules..) Good to see all parties are keepin busy as I can briefly read the comments section.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Day fifteen of the Siege of Spikey Bitz. Got bored of painting more Flesh Tearers, so I painted a Silver Skull squad leader, like he has been seconded to the Flesh Tearers to instruct them how to be better Codex Marines.

    ReplyDelete
  172. and I shall call him, "WOLFY"!

    ReplyDelete
  173. Woot Woot! Hoping for some good luck here as just starting out my Tyranid force due to these new models!

    ReplyDelete
  174. Today I'm starting my ork stompa kit, to which I realize I never got instructions from the box.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Finished my Trygon! Now I have to figure out what I want to do for my Space Marine Chapters' symbol.... I can never decide on these things!Jacob Seaman
They are an Arabic/Turkish inspired army, but I want to stay away from the crescent moons and all that. Main reason, I stink at freehand!

    Anyway, dreaming of Tervigons!

    -Wolfs16

    ReplyDelete
  176. Day sixteen of the Siege of Spikey Bitz. SPray painted some models and recoated my Sag. Priest.

    ReplyDelete
  177. quick question. Does it matter how many names I post under on this website?

    ReplyDelete
  178. Already on day one of assembled, and the stompa played its first Apoc game!
